Self Portrait
Recently, my boss gifted me a leather jacket that he wore regularly in the 80's and 90's. He said he wanted it go to a good home. This design expresses how I felt looking in the mirror after putting on the jacket for the first time. I’m very sentimental about objects, and I was touched that he trusted me to take care of something he wore religiously for years.

I feel that rats fit my aesthetic and personality; goofy little creatures that can seem more threatening than they really are. This rat is looking in the mirror like he’s a bit transfixed by his own reflection, his paws barely sticking out of the sleeves of his new jacket. It seems he’s just finished dying himself red, and like me, has hair dye spilling onto his bathroom counter.
